Re: God doesn't exist. Prove me wrong.
Alright... lets examine the Troubles in Ireland shall we...Protestants vs Catholics, right?
Wrong, it's not about religion, it's about land. The Irish people didn't like the fact that English peasants were coming over and stealing their land. The fact that most of the British were Protestants and most of the Irish were Catholics actually has remarkably little to do with it....

The "troubles" have been a centuries-old dispute between England and Ireland over who controls Northern Ireland.
In 1609 British colonial settlers confiscated native-owned land in Northern Ireland and settled in Ulster with mainly Protestant British planters. There was conflict between the planters and the native Irish. The planters won the bloody ethno-religious conflicts that followed and cracked down on the political and religious freedoms of the indigenous Irish.

Happy birthday incoming! Nice !
But yeah, I am not putting you down. Just know, you have to read if you want any understanding of wars. This shit runs deep. It gets rather convoluted. I suggest finding a war of interest and working both ways, before than after. Go from there.

Re: War and Religion
By all means, go find wiki articles that prove me wrong. Wikipedia isn't a bad source of information, however it is often incomplete. But it is a good place to start, and then you move outward from there.
I can't remember the exact name of the meeting at which Pope Urban II ordered the first Crusade, but if I look on wiki I can see that is was the "Council of Clermont" and then I can work outward from there by searching through the citations and articles that have been written on that subject.
Wiki is often misused because people depend only on it, but that dosen't make it an invalid resource.
