Authorities board Tamil ship off BC coast.

Canadian authorities have boarded a ship carrying Tamils to this country's shores.

The RCMP, Canada Border Services Agency and Department of National Defence together now control the vessel. Transport Canada earlier confirmed the ship, the MV Sun Sea, is to be taken to CFB Esquimalt, just west of Victoria.

Are they all "poor, hopeless refugees"? The article would imply no. If "by sea" is the most common method of illegal entry by human smugglers (we could go ahead a label them slavers as well as many of those smuggled wind up in some form of slavery") into Canada....what is wrong with having a different protocol on how to handle those attempting to illegally immigrate by sea? But, sigh, you're right I guess, evil Conservatives. LOL @ naivete
