Re: Ramadan road trip
I have....and I am white. And used to have my head shaved (baseball thing). But, I was called a racist by a co-worker, who was black, because I disagreed with her during a discussion about Obama (go figure). She said and I quote "You disagree with him because you are a racist, deep down."
That was from a woman that I've worked with for over 5 years. Someone who I've had into my home and at just about all of the "festive" activities I've thrown. Someone that I did (and still do) a lot of IT work for.
She apologized, tearfully, a few hours after that event. She knew I was not and am not a racist. But, she jumped to it anyway and felt terrible for it afterward.
Sadly, it happens.

No - that's not true. One time, I was approached by a guy on the street. He had the look of a salesman or something, so I avoided him. He said something like, "Don't avoid me because I'm black."I was livid, but after I told him how offensive that was, and he apologized.

Re: Ramadan road trip
I have before , but it is mostly from the younger or more naive bunch. I have to remind them that not only are some of my best friends hispanic/black but that I care not for the color of their skin but their actual capability as a person.
To the OP...good read.
