    I think the problem is that most Americans that consider themselves knowledgeable about religion are actually only knowledgeable about Christianity in its various forms. I also suspect that if you did some statistical analysis on the results of the survey, you would find that people from the age of 20-40 would have a far higher percentage of correct answers than the older folks and the younger folks. I have no data to back up that opinion, just personal experience. In my opinion, people younger than 20 have not completely figured out that their parent's world view is not the only one out there and people older than that are fairly set in their world view. But between the ages of 20 and 40, you are likely to find the most people who are searching for answer's that their family's religion may have not answered for them. And so they are the ones most likely to be exploring other religious views. But like I said, thats just an opinion based on personal experience, not anything empirical.
