    Changing the Driving Age

Eh I'm torn 50/50 on it, while I think making it 1 to get your license, and having a permit for at least a couple years could be a good thing, I could see the argument that it doesn't do much other then cause more accidents with 18 year olds. I think Arizona already says you can't drive at night with a permit, though I believe you also have to have a guardian with you (which negates the 1 passenger anyways).

Then you have the argument if the government should get involved or if they should just let the states deal with it, though they'll be able to use the interstate commerce to say they can if they want to.

    Re: Changing the Driving Age

other countries have higher driving ages but also tend to have more urban areas and better/more public transportation

i feel like the freedom to drive around and get out helps to relieve a lot of the teenage angst... being stuck at home like that when you're 16 and 17 would put more pressure on parents and kids i think.

Exceptions to every rule but I certainly have seen a ton of Senior Citizens that should not have been behind the wheel. 45MPH on the interstate is just as or more dangerous than 80MPH.

If they do this then will just complain about the next age group. Then they will want to bump it up to what 21? Stupid does nothing.

Statistically speaking teenagers are still in more fatal accidents than seniors.

I personally think seniors should get tested yearly and i don't have a problem with raising the age. I might be biased from living in England my teenage years and not getting my license until I was 18 here.
