Insult to injury. Literally
I feel dirty for starting a thread in this section but i figure this is where something like this belongs. Just thought this was an interesting read.
A January crash on snowy Interstate 80 in Mercer County sheared off Marzena Mulawka's right leg and shattered her left leg, pelvis and back, turning the 26-year-old's life upside down.
--
There's one thing that sours Ms. Mulawka: a bill for $2,509.42 sent to her family by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for guardrail damaged in the crash -- the very guardrail that she says tore through her car door and cut off her leg.

Wow. I'm amazed she survived that crash.
It seems like the bill was some kind of error. At least I hope so.

I suppose there reasoning was, that the police report made it "her fault" for the crash and thus they feel she should have to pay for the damage. Not that I agree with that, considering the circumstances, though they may have not know about the extent of the damage the guardrail had caused. However as it goes on, the police report was wrong on many levels.
The fact of the damage it did, and the fact that she wasn't at fault, she shouldn't have to pay for the damage.
