That sounds fucked up, right there. He was complying with the laws, what the fuck? It sounds like the judge ought not be a judge. Or is most definitely trying to get the case overturned or thrown out by a higher court.

Thank God I live in Texas... I'm allowed to conceal carry in my vehicle without having to have a CHL - it can be cocked, loaded, and ready to go. I'm pretty sure this guys case will get thrown out.

House Bill 1815- is an ammendment to the so- called "travelling law" that allows residents to carry a concealed handgun in their vehicle WITHOUT a permit. However, the following provisions must be maintained (unlicensed carry in vehicle):

    The handgun must be concealed.
The handgun may be carried on the person while inside the vehicle- not outside (which then requires CHL). Or, the handgun may be kept concealed in a glovebox, under the seat, in a console, etc.
The person must own or control the motor vehicle.
The person must not be engaged in a criminal activity, other than a Class C misdemeanor violation of the traffic code.
The person must not be prohibited from possessing the firearm.
The person must not be a member of a gang.

Special Note: HB1815 also allows a person to legally transport the handgun "to and from" the vehicle- more specifically, "to & from" the person's legal residence.
    Thank you Texas.

This is more of a reflection of a terrible judge than it is on NJ's gun laws.

You gotta wonder if the guy even tried to get a lawyer. I know... it isn't always an option if you don't have money. I am sure it will get overturned, but damn!
