Northern Kentucky lands Noah's Ark park - U.S. news - Life - Faith - msnbc.com

FRANKFORT, Ky. — A full-scale replica of Noah's Ark will be the biggest feature of a creationism-themed amusement park expected to open in 2014 in northern Kentucky, Gov. Steve Beshear announced Wednesday.
The $150 million park will be built by a for-profit group called Ark Encounter LLC, which is partnering with Answers in Genesis, most widely known for its high-tech Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky., Beshear said at a Capitol news conference.

Ark Encounter developers seek to recover under state tourism development laws up to 25 percent of the project's cost by recouping sales tax revenue paid to the state on tickets, lodging and other goods.
While state support of a religious-themed project is probably not illegal, attorney Ed Kagin, called it questionable, said the Cincinnati Enquirer.
“They’re implicitly endorsing this project, and I think that is improper,” said the American Atheists board member.

Again, Kentucky is embarrassing itself(along with the nation) by basically endorsing and partially paying for this ridiculous religious theme park.

I'm really shocked this would happen in Kentucky...... And people wonder why we are slipping when it comes to the education of our kids. These idiots probably think the Flintstones was a documentary! The entrance to this park should have a sign that says "You must have an IQ under 100 to enter this park" like how rides at a theme park have the height ones.

The sadder thing, is kentucky schools are probably still ranked higher then the ones in Arizona.

I really do hope they have a little "Touchdown Jesus Remembered" part of the park or something. Either way, I might have to drive up and just laugh at all the crazy people... We'll see how I feel about it in 3 years.

I got $20 bucks they'll have a game or something where you beat up on a scientist (not a real person of course, but a doll or something made to look like one)
