New Jersey gun case reveals problems with gun laws
New Jersey Gun Case Exposes "Patchwork"; of State Laws, Experts Say - FoxNews.com
So this guy legally buys guns in Colorado, calls New Jersey where he's planning to move to, has them unloaded and locked-up in his trunk, and now he's serving 7 years in jail.
Sounds like he has other issues, but to get 7 years on a charge like this is sort of crazy. I wish gun laws were more consistent, or at least fair. This is where the letter of the law doesn't match the spirit or intent of the law.
Sounds like the Judge didnt give him any help, dang.
Nappen claims the moving exemption issue was raised both during the trial and in a pretrial motion to have the entire case dismissed, but he said the jury was never given the exemption statute because then-Superior Court Judge James Morley refused to provide it to them.Last edited by Consultant; 12-03-10 at 10:59 AM.
