Most people dont understand, thanks to the awesome CCW laws in FLA, that security guard was able to have a pistol that saved those people....

I don't see these rare occurrences as a reason for me to carry a gun around everywhere. Yes, it's great to have the right tool available to save your (or someone else's) life, but the same thing could be said about walking around with a portable defibrillator, and you'd probably be more likely to use the defibrillator. We don't of course, because the chance of ever using it is pretty slim.

I fully support your right to carry arms, but to me, when I see someone (besides military/police etc) carrying a gun around with them, I it just looks silly. They look like they're either very afraid, trying to make a political statement, or compensating for something.

I've been in position that a CCW would have been nice to have. Even still I dont carry on a regular basis. The only time I have ever really carried was when I was working the family business that meant carrying large amounts of cash. If I was working back on the east side at night I would carry, time and place for me, but love having the option to carry when I want.

Yeah, carrying in certain situations is understandable. My father used to own a low-rent building with some shady tenants, and used to carry when he had to collect their rent. What I don't get is these suburban pretend-cowboys who carry their guns into starbucks.
