Time to see if the repubs will stand their ground against debt by voting no to raising the debt ceiling. That's why they were re-elected, right?

They were also elected on the platform of "cutting taxes for the rich will create more jobs", and they were right, in a sense, those tax cuts produced jobs alright, jobs overseas. Now the rich get richer, keep more money in their bank accounts and create more jobs in China.

It would be stupid not to raise the debt ceiling but equally stupid to not try and reduce the overall debt.

nah, they'll cut a deal, in which they'll vote for the debt ceiling if obama gives every person making over a million dollars more money, and maybe a new car.

What will happen is all the Democrats will vote for it and they will find just enough Republicans to get it passed, while the rest of the Republicans vote no. Then we get to listen to them shriek for another year how they are deficit hawks who oppose spending and some other bullshit.
