Thread: Bomb found near Spokane, WA march

According to reports, some event coordinators saw the backpack and decided to inform local police (feeling it was suspicious). Well apparently the FBI concluded that it did indeed have a bomb in it, and apparently was fairly complex one.

A backpack found along the route of the Martin Luther King Jr. march in Spokane contained a bomb "capable of inflicting multiple casualties," the FBI said Tuesday, describing the case as "domestic terrorism."
The FBI said the Swiss Army-brand backpack was found about 9:25 a.m. PST on Monday on a bench at the northeast corner of North Washington Street and West Main Avenue in downtown Spokane.
In an interview on msnbc cable's "The Rachel Maddow Show," Spokesman-Review reporter Thomas Clouse said confidential sources told him that the device was equipped with a remote control detonator and contained shrapnel.

'ats messed up. Did they find some statement by the bomber? I wonder what the motivation was. (meaning, was it just old fashioned racism, or was it more political than that...or was it "random" in that they just wanted to bomb the next available big event and this happened to be it?)

Apparently the FBI thinks it had something to do with racism (gee, you think? )

the local news is reporting there was a 'chemical' element to the bomb too. it's already fallen out of coverage....short memories.....
