Re: police beat down
Im guessing i could enlighten you on it seeing as a police officer that obvious knows all the laws thought that showing the video was a 6th amendment rights violation. You know what makes really good evidence? How about a video of a half a dozen cops kicking the shit out of a teenager? Sure seems like a good one to me. In fact its about all he will need to destroy those stupid asses in court.
If you need to ask me about shit like burden of proof and warrants you need to get a new job. Thats basic shit that has been discussed over and over in these very forums. As for what laws you all learned in the academy how about assault? Did you learn the meaning of that one? Because it sure doesn't look like it in that video. How about mob violence or justice? Because it sure appears to me like the group involved here had a common intent to dole out justice in their own way by means of violence.
Slice it anyway you want kraker and you will still come to the same conclusion. The bretheren of the police force create their own bad apples. The only difference between now and 40 years ago is they are on tape due to the availablity of video recording equipment. Times change and they better smarten up and realise they are not hiding in a corner anymore. This shit happens far to often for it to be a couple of bad cops. What we have here is a superiority complex running rampet through the police force.

Re: police beat down
Assault? Well, here we call it battery, we do not have an assault statute in Indiana....
But if you must know, IC 35-42-2-1 states that Battery is defined as A person who knowingly or intentionally touches another person in a rude, insolent, or angry manner commits battery, which is a Class B misdemeanor. However the offense can be enhanced to an A misdemeanor if it results in bodily injury, is committed agains a law enforcement officer, and a few others...
It would be a D felony if it results in bodily injury to an officer....and a WHOLE fuck load of other circumstances.
What you fail to realize is us officer HAAAVE to know this stuff, this is what we base our "PROBABLE CAUSE!!!!" off of. (thats the burden of proof we need to arrest someone) "But Kraker! Police officers can not arrest for misdemeanors without a warrent unless is was committed in thier presence!" yelled Deathgod, because he knows everything.
Very true death, but there are a few exceptions to the rule, such as DUI's, Domestic battery, and...drum roll please....battery. "But Kraker, how do you get a warrent if you didnt see the crime?" Again, excellent question death god. You see, the lazy, no good for nothing, dont know shit police officers that you claim us to be, have to carefully listen to all the parties involved, take into account the totality of the circumstances, and any physical evidence present in order to formally make the arrest. "but what if its he said she said, thats not beyond a reasonable doubt!" exclaimed deathgod from across the room.
Very true again death, it is not beyond a reasonable doubt. Thats why we go off of "PROBABLE CAUSE!!" (echo deep voice) which basically means, it more likely than not happend this way.
Thank you for listening

Re: police beat down
Dang I just read this whole thing! (You guys make things real personal lol). Right now Im a Criminal Justice major at UNT and I took ethics.... this definitely looks like a reason for those cops to lose there jobs. This is more than just fucking one's job up, it's more like... idk if you purposley shredded important documents because you got pissed. But just like the kid, the cops deserve their to tell their story in court.
Also if people think this was "real justice" and the correct punishment, then the kid should not have anymore punishment against him in court because that would seem to make it excessive.
(oh... and go Anderson Silva lol)
