Re: Another voice comes out on the Iraq WMDs
I had no intention of making jabs at intellect, so I apologize if that's how my post came across (the only intentional jabs I made were in regard that that other topic, part in jest and part in noting (imo of course) the fundamental differences of said comparisons in both topics. after all, things would be boring otherwise, right? ).
My truck repair analogy was merely a gross oversimplification to try and get my perspective across in regard to the meddling comparisons. (my "meddling A (war)" analogy involved the stealing and such, with regard to the meddling via war, whereas my "meddling B (humanitarian)" analogy involved the distribution of resources, with regard to meddling via providing meds/food so per parts of your reply in regard to my analogies, you may consider a re-read of my analogies )
<insert obligatory "pogue" remark, in homage to hawg> (did I miss something? now that I think about it, I haven't noticed any hawg posts in a good while )
oh, and it wasn't my nephew, it was my friend's nephew...either way, its still an unfortunate loss (and all the others for that matter).

Re: Another voice comes out on the Iraq WMDs
correct, it was a known falsehood after the fact...I admit my comment you quoted was meant to be somewhat incendiary for debate's sake in regard to our "provocation" to justify invading Iraq during my volley with DG (but the question also remains is why did we not verify said sources before invading, considering that that was partly how it was "sold" to the American people).
So yes, the goose has been cooked, we made a mess and personally I think we should clean up our mess , so-to-speak (just as I would feel like I would need to clean up a mess I make at a friend's house...again, another gross oversimplification)...so A is my final answer...actually, A, C, and D...except that in regard to D I have no definitive answer or solution, nor do I think anyone else does, thus just a sliver of the pickle we've been put in...plus I guess C is somewhat inclusive in regards to A.

Re: Another voice comes out on the Iraq WMDs
Other then religion the Iraq war has been one of my favorite points of debate for many years and I have to give you kudo's for not trying to snake out of the (I think) historically valid options provided. I listened in on a few 'professional' debates and when confronted with this type of argument the anti-war person just says, "growl rant growl rant boo love not war fight the power", whether there were WMD's or not or if we were lied to or not is unimportant for me personally as I have stated before. But anywho props.
