Well its the grocer union, so they really don't have any power (I would have had to pay dues, plus gone fetched carts in a dress shirt in the middle of summer, as just a part-time bag boy O_o).

but yeah, imo unions are most of the time useful, but there are still some cases in which they don't seem to do much to help the people they supposedly are there to help. Plus, it seems some are way too stubborn to admit something that was good on paper, is really a terrible idea in practice (*cough tenure, also colleges are terrible about this *cough*)

But that's the thing about piece work... you could also make much less than the hourly guys, if you didn't work fast.

Oh that is so true. I've taken a few jobs here and there that burned me. But im a man of my word so i stick to it and finish it even if i lost money on the deal. I always looked at as i'll make it up on the next one which pretty much always happens.
