As long as the student isn't voting multiple times in the same election, how is that student "corrupting the process"?

This is very simple. You can vote in the state, town and country of your primary residence. If you didn't change your residency to the Keys, then you can't vote there. Everyone gets to vote in one locality, one state, and one country.

OK, so we agree...if a student changes their residency to the college town they live in, they can vote in local (city/county) elections there. Cool.

Yes, I agree with that. The only thing that I disagreed with was that paying taxes was necessary.

This reminds me of the rational for not letting women vote. They could vote on local affairs but the thought was the keep the wife focus at home and have them "troubled" with the nations affairs. They didn't know what was happing on the grand scale so they shouldn't have a say in it. While it makes some sense that you really shouldn't have people who don't know anything about what's going on voting, that's not the way things work here. It would get much more fuzzy to decide when someone should vote based on knowledge. 18s the age, doesn't matter if you dumb as shit or educated to the point of stupidity.

I never said they were. I'm saying if you don't have a solid system in place to keep track of who is voting where, cheating and fraud are much more likely to happen.

We do. It's called voter registration. You can't be legally registered to vote in two towns, two states, etc. C

And yet it happens. The more you complicate the process, the more you make it possible. You may have a steadfast confidence in the airtight integrity of our voting system, but I tend to think it needs rigorous oversight.

Do you have any evidence that students are voting in two elections in high levels? If not, then why even try to restrict their rights?

There are shit load of stories like this to include people in jail doing it. So i have to agree that restricting the ballots is the best way to control an issue.
