Hmm thats funny, cuz everything else I am reading says that there is no clear time table for how long these operations are going to last in Libya.

Should also note that everything else that I found regarding Gate's visit to Egypt on Wednesday he is quoted on saying that "the Libya people will determine how long this lasts," and he never mentions anything about the US handing control over to anyone. And in case you dont believe me here's the CNN article that I found regarding his visit to Egypt: Libyans will determine how their story unfolds, Gates says - CNN.com

Wouldnt you think that something like this would be mentioned on his visit seeing as how he is visiting the country that is right next to Libya?

Yes, but there are clear goals. That's something that the Republicans should take notes on.

Yes, it will be up to them how it will turn out, because we won't be there.

Oh my god not another thread turned into a political side show. I do have one question for you. What clear goals are you talking about? Last i knew the only goal that was set is to put a no fly zone in place. Everything else was a big question mark.

The only goal that I have seen or heard of for that matter is the removal fo Ghadafi, other than that nothing.

As far as taking notes on this stuff, the democrats should take notes on how to actually start a war or use other military branches other than Marines. You still need to address Congress and deliver your intentions and proclamation of intent to use other military forces. Thats something Bush did and our fearless leader now forgot to do.

Yes, let's remove Ghadafi, and either put someone just as bad in place, or better yet leave a vacuum for someone even worse to fill. Why can't we let Libya solve Libya's problems? No fly zone I am ok with I guess to somewhat level the playing field, but we don't need to be the puppet master.

Libya cant solve libyas problems because the guy in charge thinks it a good idea to use bomb runs on the countries population. If it was just a protest or scirmishes here and there im sure they would be left to do their thing. We aren't the puppet master this was the call of the UN not the US. Not to worry though no boot will hit the ground.

    1. If you read my entire post I agreed with the no fly zone.

    2. Famous last words on no boots hitting the ground.
