I believe he is talking about the fact that our currency is not backed by anything other then the US Gov. and not gold. Which is an interesting point seeing how any other nation in our position would be a dead economy, but because the finacial world runs on the dollar everything keeps turning, which is why my professors keep say to pay attention to the news when Political big wigs around the world are talking about replacing the dollar as the main currency. If they did, then it would be Die Hard 4 Redux.

not saying it would let them take us over, but they would try. I looked it up months ago and majority of China's exports go to the US (and our allies). IIRC it was something like 40+% of the money they make of exports is from the US and our allies. IMO one of the big things that keeps China from thinking about either a war or trying to call in the debts, is how fucked they would end up due to the major loss of revenue.

I would have to disagree with you. Yes we are their largest consumer but its far from what keeps them from going to war with us. They aren't stupid they know full well our capabilities of bringing that fight to them. Of which is not something they can do to us. The strength, size, and strategic locations of our military are what keep us as the dominating force on this planet.

Our 2 biggest concerns are china and nk. Both have a substancial military presence when it comes to troop size but lack what it would take to win a war against a military like ours. Foot soldiers are important with out a doubt but when you have the ability to put 18 thousand military aircraft in the area with strategic weaponary straped to each wing troop size comes in a distant second.

The reason we are a global police force is the same reason that keeps other from attacking us. Our ability to be anywhere on the planet with an arsenal that the rest of the globe combined does not match.
