GoDaddy to boycott or not to boycott?
So what do you guys think about this? The GoDaddy hats went a little too far for me.

Killing for food is one thing. Killing for fun is another. Just my opinion.
Oh and I love how 'unbiased' the video was, lol. Trampled cornstalks, hungry vilagers. What choice does the poor hunter have?

I don't see the problem. If they are destroying the crops, wouldn't it make sense to stop them? Not only that, but in killing the elephant you are feeding a large part of a hungry village. Its not selfish unless the body doesn't get use.

Then the villagers should kill it like they have done for years. It was the presentation of the whole thing that was tasteless. Hats, posing on the elephant etc.

Well in all fairness, you usually take a picture with your kill... whether it be a deer, hog, moose, elk, elephant, ____________...
At least the meat was used and not gone to waste. Usually people just hunt elephant for their ivory and the thrill.

I'll be honest. I've got an elephant gun my grandfather gave me. I really want to try it out, but a shooting range seems kind of a waste on a gun like that. I'm also wondering if I would need a shoulder pad or something considering the power I would expect the gun to have. Oh well.
Oh, and endangered species taste fucking delicious. Mhmmmm.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

Re: GoDaddy to boycott or not to boycott?
I really do not see the problem here. Could the villagers have handled it themselves... sure. Although if I had the opportunity to hunt elephant I can't say I would decline with nothing going to waste. I think the whole situation is win/win. Sure the villager wearing the godaddy hat is cheesy but why is this an issue? Companies have been doing cheesy marketing for years. Is this any reason to boycott? I say no.
However if they were using funds to create their own Godaddy empire and were hell bent on world domination and wanted to destroy all of the elephants and replace them with bionic elephant-server clusters that would roam the world then YES I would go out of my way to boycott them.Last edited by psychonitrous; 04-01-11 at 12:11 PM.
