Re: Glenn Beck's fox show to be "axed"
I am calm, I was just curious why you felt the need to bring up ratings a perceived influence factor. I ask you about it, and you blow up as if I'm attacking you. I know now that it is ok to bring up completely irrelevant points in order to say something about the "other side." Thanks for clarifying that!
I know that, but they have nothing to do with whether someone's message is right or wrong, sane or insane.

Re: Glenn Beck's fox show to be "axed"
i love you fov, but really a statistic is a statistic and nothing more. dex was just pointing out a statistic that is of paramount relevance when talking about a tv show: ratings.
i don't think he was defending glen beck, making a statement about his view, your views, our opinions. simply that the show has good ratings, and thus, he has a following. that's a fact, not an endorsement. that's like me saying the superbowl has good ratings, and inferring i like football... i may hate football, but you can't deny it has good ratings, that it's advertiser influence people, and that resulting purchases influence the economy, which in turn influences... you see the point. we would be remiss in talking about glen beck, or his show, if we overlooked ratings and influence.
as for beck, i've seen his show several times. he's a good salesman, and i can see why many people watch him. personally i hate how every topic he speaks on comes down to either the world doing it his way and the world is saved, or don't do it his way, and the end of the world is upon us. he's a sensationalist at best, fear mongerer at worst.
i'm not saying he's always wrong. but i hope this is a downward slope for him, i like less fear mongering, less left wing hatred, more level headed commentary imo.

Re: Glenn Beck's fox show to be "axed"
Exactly. Except the nut-job vacuum he will create never lasts long enough....rest assured, that we will soon meet the next one.
The most interesting part of this is why. Apparently, his ratings must be high here in the States....since the article decided to go all the way across the pond to find low ratings......who cares what his ratings are in Europe....or Uganda....or Nepal. Only his ratings here would matter, and since those haven't been brought up, I guess we can assume his Fox bosses must be happy.
The only other reason to end a show with decent ratings and happy bosses is to do something bigger.....to build on whatever popularity, influence, or cache he feels he has. So.....I wonder what he is up to.

Oh, swear to your god, if he announces he's running for the presidency I'm going to go throw up. I bet he'll have the uberMILF as his running mate, too.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
