Ratings are only as good as the advertising revenue that they bring in. Weren't Beck's advertisers bailing on him?

Yup, in droves. But according to Beck, he has more advertisers than anyone else in his field. The number that bailed were a drop in the bucket. However, when i was listening this morning i thought Goldline and Life Lock were the only two he had left!

But nobody cares about the UK.......the numbers there don't matter for shit. I'm also pretty sure Beck doesn't care about his numbers in Antarctica.

As Hawg said.....his ratings are high. Losing some advertisers from a show with high ratings is only making room for more advertisers. That can't be why he is walking away.

He is up to something. I'm sure we will know soon enough.

The articles that I read (granted, this was in 2009), didn't say that other advertisers were scrambling to fill the spots.

It was an assumption on my part. When a show has good ratings, companies line up to get their name heard by millions of people. Successful show = Advertising $.

Either way, I think it's pretty safe to assume that Beck wasn't short on ad money or sponsor support. His bosses at Fox were happy, and he wasn't fired.

It still seems to me that he is up to something bigger than a radio show. Even if the numbers are slipping 2000 miles outside of his market.

His ratings were plummeting on top of the fact that nobody wants to put their advert $ to support his show.
HELLO AMERICA? Glenn Beck Posts Biggest Ratings Drop Of Any Cable News Show In January
Year over year he posted the biggest loss of any cable news show averaging 1.8 million viewers, down 39% from January 2010. In 25-54 demo he dropped 48%, to 397,000.
Becks ratings have been struggling all month. And by struggling we mean he as been consistently below the 2 million total viewers mark. A first.
Last April a big deal was made when Beck's ratings tumbled from 2.9 in January to 2.1 in April. They rebounded over the summer (as evidenced by his well-attended rally) but dropped again in October when he slipped behind Bret Baier for the first time.
Still, 1.9 is a drop from his October average of 2.9 million.
