Or better, Fox News. MSNBC isn't going to be torture to anyone but the far righties who believe everyone but Fox is liars and part of the liberal conspiracy.

From the man who founded SEAL Team Six. I think there are certain rules to follow, but as stated before whats the point in following a set point of rules if your enemy is playing to win?

That man that "founded SEAL team 6" was talking out of his ass. You follow those rules for future conflicts as well as having the high ground. especially if part of the mission is to win the trust of the local populace. And again, it has been told by many interrogators that torture is highly unreliable.

Lol, I'm not trying to start a heated argument, but read up on some of Marcinko's books, and check this out: YouTube - RED CELL Security Training 1
I would say he "talked out of his ass" pretty well when it came to showing how vulnerable it was to break into some military compunds and other places you wouldn't want a terrorist group getting to, part of his operations was torture and it worked.

Maybe it all depends on the kind of torture and who is being tortured? Leave it at that?

Physically harming a captured enemy is never ok. You can't correct a wrong by committing another wrong. I also fucking hate the phrase "The end justifies the means.".

But, when I was a kid, a teen, I would have agreed with killing/torturing one person to save two more. As an adult I wouldn't kill/hurt one person to save a thousand more. I know I am a bitcrazy, but I think you can never claim that hurting or killing someone who poses no immediate physical harm to you as moral.

To answer the question about how you non-violently get information out of someone... there are a lot of ways. If you look at the men fighting in Iraq/Afghanistan. They are concerned about their way of life and culture being eliminated by the west. So you offer to build a mosque in their town if he gives up his leader, or his leader's leader. You can offer to build a well, water purification plant, give them generators. Then you follow through with it. Not only will he give up information, you improved the welfare of his home. If he is fed up with the turmoil and invading countries, offer him and his family asylum.

Not one operator that I ever came across has ever had any good things to say about Marcinko. Whether they came from the Teams, Force or any other organization that I have had the opportunity to train with, the consensus was that he is a self promoting clown. He was the topic of many discussions at the time, because that is when all of his laughable books came out.

So yes, that guy was indeed talking out of his ass.
