04-21-11, 09:10 PM #1Pipe bomb found in Littleton Mall (on 4/20)
After a fire, the firefighters found an undetonated pipe bomb and two propane tanks. The reason the town and date are important is due to the fact that the mall is less then 2 miles from Columbine High School, and 4/20 was the day the attack there happened. The device is similar to one they found at Columbine as well. Now I'm not saying they are in anyway related (unlike some in the media trying to sell it), and note: Investigators are exploring the connection (they have not said it is or isn't however).
Thankfully the device did not go off, as in any of these cases. Typically there is about 6,000-10,000 people in the mall at that time of day. Hopefully they catch the person who would be willing to do something like this. There is no reason for it happen in the first place, and honestly don't get what justification can be given to blow up a mall with probably 6,000+ people you don't even know.
Anyone in the area, there is a description and picture given by the FBI.
