A GeekDad’s Daughter Reinvents Chess | GeekDad | Wired.com
I have tried, as best as I can, to provide prescriptive advice to students for “big idea generation,” and at the top of my list is maintenance of an irreverence for the principles and principal figures in one’s field. If you’re not careful, I scold, you will become indoctrinated in the implicit assumptions of a scientific community, unable to see in certain intellectual directions. Better to remain aloof, so you are psychologically more able to be irreverent and more likely to make a revolutionary discovery.
I found this Article completely relative, for my irreverence rules my creative thought.

Re: Irreverence
I find it interesting that she would, after playing chess one time, create an entirely new rule-set including pieces that not only seem relevant, but expand on the game in ways that are logical and interesting.

Re: Irreverence
TF2? 9 classes plus civilian. Very interesting. I think he makes a good point in saying that too many people(adults) are afraid to break away from institution and go against the grain. How many great minds of the past were rule breakers, breaking away from the norm is not always popular, but is many times needed.
