Gen David Petraeus, the US head of international forces in Afghanistan, will be nominated as CIA director when its chief moves to head the Pentagon, unnamed US officials have said.

There's a bit of change up going on with Gates retiring. I think Petraeus is a good choice.

Lol, you haven't read the rest of the article yet. Petraeus is up for the job because the current head of the CIA is going to become the Secretary of Defense.

I'm still betting if Leon Panetta was appointed by Bush, he would considered a well qualified genius...

And so far what I've read about Panetta he is certainly not an idiot, unqualified at the time? probably. but an idiot? not a chance.

Also wasn't George H.W. Bush considered a great CIA director? Despite having even less qualifications then Panetta?

A lot of areas in wars traditionally have had fighting seasons due to weather, namely when the weather impedes fighting so much that the effort involved to fight makes it overly difficult to do so.
