Re: will us debt ever get controlled?
I think that we are on the right track with the Republican party trying to put the brakes on spending and not allowing our spending ceiling to go up, like what was requested..... It will get fixed at election time, I do believe. It takes a change, and bring in the next guy that feels the same as we do.

Lol, you really cannot believe that much of a wide-eyed, naive optimist. First, Republicans aren't serious about cutting any spending. When defense cuts were brought to the table, they flatly denied them all and wanted increases in spending. Second, they will vote to raise the debt ceiling, no doubt about it. They can huff and puff about it all they want, and some may vote no as a symbolic gesture, but it will pass. It would ruin our country if they didn't raise it. Three, why would you want to put in the people most responsible for our debt problems back into office to try and "solve" them? It all started with Ronnie Raygun: U.S. National Debt Graph + Amazing YouTube Story of the Debt

no, and no real need to either. In so much debt its incomprehensible.
Serious wars though usually clear the slates dont they?
