Re: Imams kicked off flight due to "uncomfortable passengers"
Death,
If you don't have an Operational Need to Know, you shouldn't be told any information about locations of ships/any military personnel on assignment, even rough information near certain locations can be considered a security breach (North Korea or hostile areas for example). Also, you're not even supposed to disclose the fact that you have a clearance in public. It makes you a target for anyone who may overhear, especially if you're so indispensable as you have claimed (This is basic security briefing 101). You may not consider the internet to be a public place, and you may act like no one will be able to figure out who you really are, but I bet someone with enough time/resources would be able to find out just about everything they would want to in a short amount of time.
You've disclosed your job, security clearances, when you moved from a public to contractor position as well as numerous other key information that someone could piece together to find your identity.
What you have put on the internet thusfar about how you're told all of this information BEFORE it was released to the press sounds like a breach of protocol. If the information has not been released to the public and you do not have an operational need to know, you shouldn't be getting the information.
That being said, I know it does happen. Friends talk, tell friends about stuff they really shouldn't be telling them and for the most part its no harm no foul. However, I would be cautious as far as what you put out there in the future. The chances are it will never come back to bite you in the ass, but better safe than sorry.
