Here's another classic from the good book:
And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? ... Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. -- Numbers 31:15-18
Kill all of the men, women and children, except the child virgins, keep them for yourselves.

Re: A depressing situation
The assumption is, if she is being raped, she will scream. Does that not fit with the passage? Its a simple premise, if one is being physically hurt, the natural reaction is to scream.
I know there are all sorts of what if's here, like what if it was in a sealed room, what if she was restrained in such a way that she could not cry out, what if she was threatened with death if she screamed. We got it. But as you know, the bible can be oh so vague. What if "cry out" is not only protest during the act, but after as well? Like one would call the police in modern times. I think that could be open to interpretation as well. But in regards to Islamic honor killings, we are not talking mere interpretation, its being practiced, every two weeks on average in Jordan alone.
Your point is well taken either way. What im wondering is, does this somehow justify Islamic honor killings in your mind? Rather than denounce Islamic honor killing for the backwoods barbaric abhorrent practice that it is, in modern times no less, you quickly point your finger what may have been a christian "rule" or "law" some 2000 years ago! I am unaware of any christian supporting the death of a raped woman simply because it would stain the family honor in modern times, are you? (WBC doesn't count, one inbred family of hate with a following of about 20 people doesn't have an ounce of legitimacy.)

Do honor killings really need to be denounced here? Is it up for question why anyone here would support murdering a rape victim? No, of course not. So I'm discussing the root of the issue - religion. And no, US Christians generally don't practice honor killings, but large chunks of our population take their morality from the very same book of the bible (most of the anti-homosexuality stuff is in Deuteronomy). So my point is that while Islam currently wins for the most barbaric religiously-inspired barbarism, religion and this kind of shit go hand-in-hand.
