Re: california schools suck
Stats and numbers do not equal reality on this. Sure eat just salads and shit like a race horse for a good 60 years. Sure your healthy to a degree. Eat just meat and you will follow the same course. You have to mix them together or your not truely healthy.
Your forgeting our discussion was on eating for a buck. Of which most people dont do even when they are eating off the dollar menu. They order multiple items off of it.
I never even said salad is a bad thing. You said you could salad for a dollar and i said you could eat steak and potatoes for a dollar as well. Both of which are good for you. The debate at the time was foods that are bad for you being cheaper. Overall that is a correct statement but we can list ways to eat healthy that are cheap but fast food can beat those anytime they want to. In fact a damn burger is 49 cents at mcdonalds on tues or weds.
In fact i eat salads all the time with my dinner but im not eating rabbit food without dressing. Its the only damn thing with any flavor in the bowl to begin with.
Your trying to make an arguement where there isn't one.

the only difference the dressing makes in those numbers is it adds calories and fat, all the vitamins and other stuff are still there if you drown it in blue cheese, or eat it with nothing on it. Throw in black beans, and you can actually replace most of the nutritional value beef has (from that site, a cup of black beans beats one New York strip in about every category accept 1 or 2.)
Most of the time its going to be easier for a family/person to make grilled chicken breast (which is eh on the cheap scale though), and a side salad. Or pasta, and so forth, then get a whole roast and cut it up so they can make dinner for the night. I know I'd personally rather make a salad as it'd take me at most 10 minutes to make, then have to go through the business of getting the cuts of meat etc. to save money on steak.
And I don't agree fast food beats healthy food costs. They do on initial investment most of the time, but you also have to buy more to have a decent meal. I can't speak for the ordinary person, but I know for me I still end up with $5 dollar bill for one fast food meal, even if I'm ordering off the dollar menu. Even frozen foods I end up with about $2 dollar a meal cost (50 cents if you go to Ramen though). And fast food wins on time, maybe 4-5 minutes top, over having to take time to actually make dinner (that is one of the reasons I don't eat any healthy food, half the time I just want something already made, or that I can throw in the microwave for a few minutes and be done with it).Last edited by Red_Lizard2; 06-17-11 at 04:48 PM.

Its my way. I have two black thumbs. I kill every damn thing i try to grow. I planted a vine and it died. Do you know how hard it is to kill a vine? Then tried to kill a palm tree and the fucker keeps growing back. Me and plants just dont work out.
