I read it a couple times, and still agree with the county. Like they said, they normally wouldn't go after a small lemonade stand in most cases (even though they technically need a permit), but with the event they weren't letting ANYONE set up outside the course. Why should the kids be excluded, opening up a lovely door of bitching by all the other vendors who weren't allowed, and who were actually following the laws?

Plus you could use a slippery slope argument, and say what is to stop a turned down vender from opening a small stand "for charity" in/near the same location?

Makes sense to me. What made my stance on the argument easy was the fact that the county warned them on more than one occasion and they still didn't listen.

Going to charity my ass, if it was, they'd put it on the sign. They are obviously pocketing the money, and are obviously prepared to shell a shit load of lemonade (they stack of coolers). Children do not think that far ahead, obviously go parents thinking behind it. Who's to say the parents didnt put them up to it? Or at least direct them? After all, they are setup to make hundreds on lemonade and what are a bunch of 8 year olds going to do with that kind of money?

Lemonade on the neighborhood street corner shooting at making maybe $50 is one thing, but commercial shooting to make hundreds is another.

Gotta draw a line too. Obviously cannot make an exception allow them to proceed just because they have kinds on the store front, if they did then everyone would put a kid out front, ex all those people using their lawns for parking... they'd put a kid with a sign to evade the fine...

Gotta draw a line and make law black/white as possible because there are to many idiots and people looking to exploit the law out there.

Judging by the community surrounding the course, id say its just another case of Americas rich thinking the rules dont apply to them, that they are some how "better" than zoning guidelines.
