Self defense or murder?
"Karen Elaine Cordova, 48, was arrested Monday for allegedly stabbing two men that broke into her Erie, Colorado home where she grows medical marijuana -- killing one and and critically injuring the other -- is being formally charged with what will likely be second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder Thursday."
Karen Elaine Cordova Arrested For Allegedly Stabbing A Burglar To Death, Critically Wounding Another (UPDATE)
First you should read the whole article. The snippet doesn't do it justice. I'm leaning toward self defense on this one. They robbed her a couple days earleir and returned for another round? LOL thats just stupid.

Arrest first, ask question later.
Martinez also says to the Daily Camera that the state's "Make My Day" law will be taken into consideration, especially due to the nature of Dust's fatal gunshot wounds, before making any further arrests.Last edited by SmokenScion; 06-17-11 at 02:07 PM.

In oklahoma a pharmacist was being robbed, got shot at, so he returned fire, killing 1 and thought he killed both, he went outside to make sure hostiles had dispersed and went back inside and saw one of the attackers that shot at him earlier moving and put 5 more rounds in him to make sure he couldn't shoot at him again and for that, they convicted him of murder. He had been robbed 5 times. Unbelievable verdict.
Sent from mobile command station.

Police: Pharmacist Shoots Teen Who Tried To Rob Him
"District Attorney David Prater said Ersland was justified in shooting 16-year-old Antwun Parker once in the head, but not in firing the additional shots into his belly. The prosecutor said the teenager was unconscious, unarmed, lying on his back and posing no threat when Ersland fired what the medical examiner said were the fatal shots."

Re: Self defense or murder?
Dont shoot once then go back, initial defense should be three shots. Just ask the military guys what they are taught when neutralizing an enemy. At least two to a kill zone. For me, if I have to put another one in the chamber there is a problem. Cause I will roll out of bed and grab my rifle. I do think murder was a bit much, it wasnt premeditated. Manslaughter seems more fitting.
