So you think everyone starts smoking because they think its cool or had peers pressuring them to? Thats absurd. So i guess if we want to make that lazy of an assumption we can tie just about anything to being cool or peer pressure.

There are not many smokers about who started smoking after the age of eighteen. In fact, the majority of smokers took up the habit in their early or mid teens.

There are several reasons as to why children or teenagers start smoking.

Peer pressure plays an important part. Many children start smoking because their friends have tried it or smoke themselves.

Those children may have started as they have grown up in an environment where their parents, grandparents and older siblings smoke, and so they smoke in order to look and act like them.

Other children start smoking as an act of rebellion or defiance against their parents or people of authority.
Why do people smoke - reasons why people especially teenagers start smoking and why it is hard to give up.

Feel free to respond, and end with a question. That way I can avoid answering the question and instead nitpick on one little line in the post.

Kind of an important statement for me to question seeing as it was the basis for your whole thought. Its food for thought but its a lazy thought in my opinion. That may be because i dont know why i started smoking 24 years ago. I do know it didnt have anything to do with peers. My case probably had more to do with stress.

Forgot to end with a question per your request.

Seeing as teens are so impressionable then do you think they could have their answers swayed while being asked questions for this?

It wasn't the whole basis, consider the 2 groups were basically: Those who will smoke anyways and those who won't smoke. Thus, who the hell are they targeting? That was the whole point
