You have any other color crayons in that box of yours? Making a profit is perfectly fine but when your one of the major contributors to bankrupting a nation you might want to back down that profit margin just a bit.

I guess it's not as simple as if I/you/we didn't buy their product then they wouldn't make any money, let alone a profit? Imagine that, once again I get to use my "you vote with your dollars" quote. I should trademark that.

IMO if I offer a product/service that people need at a price they are willing to pay then I can do whatever the fuck I want with the money I make. I could care less if the executives have $100 bills for toilet paper. If you (in general, not just DG) think it is so bad, then start your own oil company, make it not for profit, and donate all your would be profit to the tooth fairy fund if you want.

Profit isn't the problem, and that's not why I think they should be nationalized. Hell, that profit would be extremely beneficial to the government right about now. It's more about getting natural resources back into the hands of the people, increasing regulation, removing the powerful oil lobby from our government, and allowing our government to better adjust fuel prices.

And for that matter, if we are vilifying everyone that is contributing to the demise of the world then anyone with consumer credit on these forums needs to be the first to volunteer to fall on their sword. Keeping up with the Joneses got us in this mess, not BP.
