Nuck, if you have a nephew or niece, they make kid sized shotguns...or least they used to. My first gun was my dad's shotgun. It's sized just right for someone under 5 feet.

I just bought my God Kids a little .22 Cricket. They live on 20 acres that backs up to ~500acres of rolling bog, so it's become our range. They are now 8, and have shot everything from 12's to my .357 (with help of course). Gotta get 'em ready for deer hunting.

And lil Madison kicks the shit out of her brother......WAY more patience. She is a natural.

This one is a little smaller.

It's.....cute. Lil single shot bolt action .22 that can't be much more than 2 feet long. Fits them pretty well, though. In another year or so, I will give them my old Mossy....single shot bolt 410. It's just a bit too long for them yet. They both like to shoot, and both are already talking about coming deer hunting with us when they are old enough. Lil fuckers will probably skunk us.
