But keep in mind that the guy in office now attended a church where the pastor spewed racist hatred from the pulpit. I'm not a fan of Barry, but I also wouldn't accuse him of being a racist pig either. Maybe he is, but it hasn't interfered with his job.

I'm not defending RP, but I also don't give two shits what his religious beliefs are. His thoughts on Creationism vs Evolution are much less important to me than his thoughts on the War or how he would pull us out of the economic nightmare we are smack in the middle of. He's not a scientist....or a Priest.....He's a politition.....and one that will be depending heavily on the donations of the Bible Belt....so who the Hell knows what he really believes when the cameras are off.

Perry doesn't belong to a church where the pastor gives credence to Creationism, Perry gives credence to creationism. If Obama starts spewing racist comments, I'll be just as disgusted.

And excusing it with "he's not a scientist" or "he's just lying for votes" doesn't really make it much better. He wasn't asked to explain genetic theory, or to build a rocket. He was asked whether he believed in a scientifically sound theory, or magic.

Wicked, are you saying that anyone with Faith/Belief (you have to have faith to have a belief imo) is an idiot because they don't challenge it? You sound like anyone who believes in God is an idiot. Or is it just that if someone has a belief that's different from yours they're an idiot?

I really don't care if he thinks he saw Jesus in his toast this morning, if he's capable of running the country/has some good ideas, I could care less about his personal beliefs. I have several friends who believe in some form of Creationism, or even that 'middle ground' known as Intelligent Design, or people that believe that God used evolution to create everything, yet they have much better ideas on how to fix things than I do.

I would listen to them about how to fix things/trust them to run stuff. Even if their beliefs are 'silly' or 'idiotic' to me, that doesn't mean that they can't do a good job.
