I really don't get the fascination with Ron Paul. Some like to say people worshipped Obama, but nothing I've seen compares to Ron Paul worship. It's nuts. He's a faux libertarian and just a typical Republican who happens to be an isolationist. His whole platform seems to be the nonsensical "audit the Federal Reserve!!1!" He wins a lot of straw polls and little things like that, but he doesn't stand a chance in the Republican primary. He never has.

Oh, I did. He is anti-gay marriage, anti-choice, doesn't accept evolution, doesn't accept anthropogenic climate change, wants to cut taxes to ridiculously low rates, wants "smaller government," believes the magical free market can solve all problems, etc. Those are all typical Republican stances. Sure, he deviates somewhat. He wants to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but that has more to do with his isolationist beliefs than being against the reasons for the wars, he voted against the PATRIOT Act, supports some drug reforms, etc. So maybe "typical Republican" was a bit harsh, but he is not exactly miles apart from them. He is similar enough for me to not even consider him.

What does that have to do with your statement..

Oh, sorry. I misunderstood what part of my post you were talking about. The Paulites were all over the place in 2008 up until McCain won the primary, obviously. I still remember seeing groups of them alongside the road here. Never saw that with Obama or McCain supporters. The Ron Paul worship is by far the most intense I have ever seen.

You should get your facts correct sir. He may not personally approve of gay marriage but he sure as hell doesn't want the government involved in that decision.
