Re: Does Sex Ed go to far?

In middle school(98 ) and high school my parents need to sign the paper that allowed me to take sex-ed. It also ask the parents to contact the teacher for the curriculum and/or attend the class. They don’t do that anymore? Or was it just my school district?

Every class no matter what subject, especially this class has a curriculum and needs to be approved by district, ‘(whichever)’ committee or PTA, etc.

Either they don’t do it anymore or the parents are neglecting their kid’s education. That’s what it comes down too. religion is irrelevant, the rest is just politics

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Obliviously it’s the parent’s job to teach their kids about sex.
When to teach them? Is up to the parents and will vary. The way Parents teach their kids will differ. The Way Billy takes it or comprehend the information will vary. The amount of time parents teach the subject will vary. And so on…

Parents-Many of You, as smart as you are, simply don’t have all the answers. And/or the kids *can* express him/er more openly to another person beside their parents.

-that is why we have-need sex-ed in school. ofcourse time is changing and we are becoming more anti-social and look for the answers anonymously online thus alice.

Re: Does Sex Ed go to far?

Why is it the new age adults are so bent on changing things for the next ones in line? I remember when bugs bunny was just a cartoon and not a political statement on violence. I think we've gone way past over analysing shit to point its fucking retarded. Yes parents should teach their kids about sex but there's nothing wrong with schools having a class for either. Some people were never very good at discussing items like sex so if the option is not learn anything or learn it in a classroom then im all for learning it in a classroom.

Hating on big brother for trying to educate is pretty weak. Hate on him for not knowing every bank account has a limit or not knowing that just because you have checks doesnt mean you have money. However hating because kids should know about std's? Come on thats just stupid. Why should they not teach about std's if you can take a class on driving, weight lifting, or taking sports? Your just being selective on what you think is worth teaching and out of those items i would say std's should be at the top of that list.

No i addressed that in my first post but i can restate it. I will feel its gone to far when they start bringing prostitutes in to show positions. Thats only because at that point i will feel i got ripped off.

I completely agree! It's not like you just put on the condom and your done, they should have an alternative class to learn sex positions and stuff so the kids don't suck at it when its their first time hahaha

Now it begs the question of just how long until we start prosecuting sex ed teachers as predators?
