So apparently beating your daughter is a crime involving moral turpitude
The other topic was closed. I almost hesitate to post this, but this gives a little +1 to my faith in the lawyer profession.
Texas court suspends judge taped beating daughter - CNN.com
Lawyers really do hell of police themselves, at least in Texas.
The judge has an administrative process to work through. If I had to guess, he'll get suspended for 3-5 years, because that's what they like to do. Either way, he's off the bench now that he's suspended.

And more than likely the only reason he got suspended was because this caused a nation wide craze and just want to keep the "angry" people satisfied. If this was more of a localish matter....he wouldnt have even got a slap on the wrist.

It's disappointing but not super surprising. Probably the only way to end his pay would be to impeach or whatever the equivalent is. There is that federal judge doing 20 years in prison still getting full benefits ( like 250k for the article 3 judges I want to say, which there are just a few of ) because they are appointed for life and Congress hasn't gotten off their asses to impeach him.

We shouldnt need anyone to get off their asses to do anything. Government employees are basically the only ones where you get in trouble and put on vacation. Everyone else already knows if your not at work your not getting paid.
