Actually BT, it's not the majority. According to a study done a few years ago, in 2010 only about 32% on American households own a gun. In fact, 65% of the guns in America are owned by only 20% of gun owners.

That may be true but you left out that some people dont own a gun because they live in homes that already have them. Some like my wife like guns but does not own one because she is free at any time to use mine. The numbers actually put the groups much closer together. It probably also worth noting that 9 times out 10 the majority vote goes to protect the right to own a gun verses gun control.

What i would like to know is the true number of gun owners in the US. Its impossible for them to have an accurate number when states like ours dont have a registry and you can never count the people that had them passed on to them by family or friends. I bet its a lot higher then the estimate of 32%.
