Re: Prometheus- Alien Prequel?
Well one guy was smoking "tabacco" which you always do your best thing with. The other was a nervous wreck. Both weren't thinking very clearly to call for help. Plus I don't think the scanner balls were finished. They just needed to kill enough time until the storm hit before they were stuck.

Re: Prometheus- Alien Prequel?
I think linking to film to the alien series with out making it a well structures prequal set the film up for trouble with Alien fans. The series has been through alot and the last thing we needed was a nice juice fish dangled infront of up by the orginal directory only to hand us this half baked creation. If he just would have stepped away from the Alien saga and create this film without those elements he wouldn't have pissed off so many fans.

Re: Prometheus- Alien Prequel?
Yeah, It seemed really stupid from the wiki 3 years ago. I've been skipping it since then just watching Aliens over and over.
But, I might be biased in that I learned evolution in the 4th grade and stopped consideration of ancient astronauts at about the same time.
Edit - anyone else notice a correlation between an artists' acclaimed work vs decline as regards to age? I am noticing this pattern alot these days/years (fuck, where did the years go?) .............

Re: Prometheus- Alien Prequel?
I enjoyed the movie a great deal. I would like to see them answer all their questions if there is another, but I am also happy they are taking a new direction after watching the Alien movies go to shit over the years.
We get the feeling that the xenomorphs were created after all this happens, but why was there a xenomorph engraving on the wall in the "shrine" room? Why did the large white giant kill himself in the beginning etc..

Read this Toag and it may give you some new ideas to answer your questions. Imo, I believe this wasn't the first xenomorph-type creature that we saw at the end of the film. The Engineer holograms were running from something and it could have very easily been another xenomorph-type creature.

Re: Prometheus- Alien Prequel?
Wow, actually read it, and now I like the movie even more. All I put together in the beginning of the movie was the destruction of his genetic make-up,.. if I think back, there was more to it. I wish they put a scene in there of killing our space jesus, and that would have made many things more clear.. maybe..
