Re: PR: youre doing it wrong
From a review at Amazon:
Got to get my hands on this controller when I found it in a dumpster out behind a store called "Things that people hate". Holding this controller feels very similar to holding a douchebag in your hands. You'll probably pick the controller up initially and have the strange sensation that Paul Christoforo was somehow squeezed into the box instead of the controller. It is an entirely unpleasant feeling. Then you'll look down at your hands and find that it is actually an Avenger controller in your hands.
I put it back into the dumpster. The dumpster spit it out.

In-Game - Chastened gaming rep responds to Internet infamy
bwahahahaha
I can't decide if this guy should be nominated for a Darwin Award - or win the Internet Tough Guy of the Year Award.
"I didn't know who that guy at Penny Arcade was," he admitted. "If I had known, I would have treated the situation a little better. PAX is a great show. What he does is what I've been idolizing since I was a kid. It's admirable he's put that together. He has a lot of connections, ones I want too."Regarding the litany of names Christoforo's e-mail called up as potential supporters — a list that included everyone from Epic Games' Cliff Bleszinski to the mayor of Boston — he said the tactic was meant to "impress, not to threaten" and didn't come through correctly because "you can't see tone of voice in email."
"I don't know the mayor of Boston," he admitted. "That was taken totally out of context, I was just joking around. I am from Boston, though, and I know a lot of people who own clubs. I know some influential people, like the guy who runs the door at the convention center.Christoforo has entertained the idea of doing some Internet videos himself, and even considered going to PAX East, held in Boston this April, with a shirt tauntingly saying 'I'm Paul Christoforo' on it. "I'm not sure I'd actually do that, since I don't want to get in any fights," he clarified.

Wow, sounding like a great Customer Service/PR guy every day, "If I knew it was some famous (err...well known anyways), I'd have acted differently." Or basically "I don't give a fuck about customers, unless they have name recognition." Now I believe the former quote is true in quite a few cases, but you don't go out and admit it like a fucking idiot.
Now the 2nd one sound more like a PR person, in that it is some good old fashion spin "no no no, I wasn't trying to threaten! just impress! It was a joke!" No, you were trying to threaten, spin it all you want but when people can read what you wrote, it won't do you much good (and no you can't read tone, but often you can pick up little hints of it to give an idea).
Also don't get the lynch mod crap going on either. Its one thing to (rightly) criticize the guy on forums, blogs, websites and so forth (or basically in the "print"). And you could argue boycotting the company is fine as well (I think it is, nothing makes a point more then destroying the revenues/cash flows of a company). But ddos'ing, spamming the twitter of someone (especially if they are death threats or incredibly vile messages) is going way overboard.

I hope the avenger controler dosnt get fucked over because of this. Seems its made for disabled people to be able to play games easier and would suck for a product made for a very select target audience to get steamrolled in troll because of this one rouge costumer relations guy dick attitude.
