Re: Own a business?... Looking for advice.
The problem with owning a paintball field is exactly the way Civil put it. Not that great unless you're running big games and tournaments, and multiple ones throughout the year. On top of that it is a very seasonal business, especialy here in Canada. Generaly there are a lot less people wanting to go out and play in the snow/cold. As far as how much it would cost to build the field I honestly have to idea.
This is the list of a few things I can think of right now:
Main building/staging area, air compressors, paintball markers/masks/equipment, netting, building(s) to play in, paintballs, computers (point of sales and other), office equipment/supplies, ownership of the land, bunkers,employees... There is so much more but these are sort of the main things. I would guess that opening a paintball field would be the same as if not more expensive than opening a franchise and the return on it would take quite a while. There are too many reasons against owning a paintball field unless I was either rich or had a business that was doing well enough for me to fuel it through the income received through another business.
Again I want to thank everyone who has given any helpful advice/input. These will be points that I will carry with me until I make my decision.
