Friends fail at computer

This is what I dealt with every day or two at work when I worked for Staples... I fixed computers for people and the shit that was wrong with some of em.... Horrible job.

Depends, this one is all fucked up. Spent about two hours removing shit and I think I managed to delete a critical file so windows no longer loads. Time for a live CD so I can retrieve the pictures and then a fresh install of windows. With all the shit that was wrong, I probably should have done that from the start. Total time will probably be about 5-6 hours.

The consulting firm I used to work with had a computer repair shop on the side...basically when we weren't working projects we worked over there. I've seen some seriously fucked up machines...used to take roughly 2 hours of hands on work to clean up a computer if we didn't have to format and reload windows. CoolWebSearch, WildTangent, and AVSecurity suite can suck one...it's amazing how many people fall for the fake antivirus gig.
