Re: Daytona 500
I have to look at it like this. I've been in cars going almost that fast. Some on the track some off the track. My conclusion was off the track had more adreniline then on because of the drivers in the other cars around you. Kind of like doing 85 on the highway with normal people when you take into consideration those driving around you are use to the same speed as you.
Dont get me wrong i love racing but nascar has become a nuetered chihuahua when it use to be a mix of all breeds forcing them to kick each other in the balls. The first step downhill imo was restrictor plates but i may be forgetting something they did prior to that.
I do however still love the sound of them circling the track but it doesnt compair to the sweet smell of cam2 and burning tires at the strip.

Re: Daytona 500
I didnt say all the races were interesting at the strip. We have one guy whos there every fri and sat running his station wagon. Its really pretty sad to watch his 15 secong runs but he is consistant as hell. However cars like that dont run cam2 and im more into the 12 and under cars. Any dipshit can get a car into the 12's it takes someskill to get under that though.
I really should put a fire under my ass to get my tranny back together so i can get back to the track.

Re: Daytona 500
I thought it was a much better race compared to the super speedway races of last season. I like the changes that Nascar made to the set up to do away with the 2 car tag team deal that took place last year. I also like how bump drafting can come at a severe penalty if you do not know what you are doing. I would like to see them open the cars just a bit more though to allow for more passing.
The only thing I was trying to figure out is why JPM was going so fast under caution. He had to be in excess of 100MPH with car trouble. I am not trying to throw blame around but it seemed to be a little more avoidable than mentioned.
Nascar may have won a fan back, we will see.
