LOL i liked it. I wish i could find a doctor like his character. Maybe then i could get my leg fixed. Instead i have to go place to place just to try and get someone else to trouble shot it. Of which im set up for yet another nuclear bones scan, blood flow test, xrays, and i cant believe im saying this but hopefully a compartment syndrome test.

Fucking thing keeps getting worse. If this keeps up im telling them to cut the fucker off. 20 years of bullshit is my cut off point.

And DG.....As odd as it sounds, amputation isn't that bad. My Dad has had both legs amputated now, just a couple of inches below each knee (took me decades, but I am finally taller than him

). Before his first one, we learned the difference between doctors and surgeons. Doctors try to fix things, and surgeons fix by removing.....much more effective. When it became time to think about his second amputation, it was a no-brainer.....it took less than two seconds for him to decide to go ahead with it.

Today he walks without a cane or any other kind of assistance. When he wears long pants, you really can't tell he's wearing prosthetics. He had some real issues with phantom pains, but that has mellowed out with time and decent meds (Lyrica, I think).

If you are serious about it, and want to talk to someone who has been through it, let me know.

Went to the clinic to a constant severe headache that started Sunday night and is ongoing. I've slept 2 hours since Sunday morning. My ears are beginning to hurt like a motherfucker. Class has been a no go with the fact that it's kind of hard to concentrate more than 2 minutes with my head about to fucking explode. Makes driving...interesting. Lots of stop lights have been helpful.

Receptionist was nice and helpful. Nurse was the same. Nurse-practicioner...at one point, he asked me what I thought should be done to remedy the situation. He then resigned to telling me to go take an advil and that he would get me a mild medicine for a generic headache. If I had known that instead of trying to figure out the cause, I would have gone to just the nurse on campus who doesn't cost money and then headed to the nearest Walgreens since I can get caffeine pills and OTC painkillers without a prescription. He did tell me that according to his iphone, 3 of my meds apparently don't play nice together. More on that later.

Now, as far as OTC pain meds...they don't do jack shit for me. I've tried practically everyone available. Vicadin, for that matter, also does jack shit for me. The only pain med that has worked for me that wasn't injected or something that numbs was a hydrocodone/Tylenol mix (5mg/100mg). That worked...kind of...for about 30 minutes after it took effect. I had some left over from a sinus infection at the end of last year. By some, I mean that I had one pill. So, I've had 30 minutes of slightly less pain over the last several days. I tell him this. He decides I'm some drug addict trying to use the clinic to get pills. I remind him that maybe, just maybe my brain chemistry is different due to my disabilities, which he knows about, and from the 7 different medications I take every fucking day. He stops the "lecture" after that. Says there is a pain med he can inject. Then, he remembers that they ran out of it a few months ago. I gave him the "Are you trolling me?" look. Still doesn't write a prescription for a pain med that will say...relieve the pain enough so I can take the test I have this morning or to do something like sleeping. Oh, and when I went to go pick up the prescription he sent to my pharmacy, I learned he actually hadn't done that. Picked up some caffeine pills instead (no effect) and popped two alleve just in case by some random chance they would actually work (they didn't).

The conflict with my meds though. That was at least useful information potentially given the fact that I did increase the specific med that causes the conflict by 50% above the normal dosage for a schizo patient. Given that the guy at the clinic didn't seem to want to actually fix the problem, I've decided to just make an appointment with my psychiatrist who for now is also functioning as my GP (he also has an MD). From talking to him on the phone, he wants to meet to discuss options for my meds since that situation is tricky and that he'll most likely have blood work and a brain scan done.

As for why I would be prescribed a med that can be dangerous with my meds, it's brand new and how it would react specifically to two of my meds was not known when I was prescribed it.

On the other hand, I learned that one of my new friends has lots of experience building liquid cooling and that the 6xx cards are supposed to be 50% better than the 5xx cards. I also remembered that Ivy Bridge should be coming out soon as well. Can you say upgrade time?! Just need to find a game that will actually warrant that beast of a machine (maybe if they release the RAGE high texture pack that's rumored to be 50GB?).
