Poor ass people do poor ass things.
Last week brought some nice warm weather for this time of year. Unfortunately it did not carry over to this week. So lately its been around 5+/- degrees celsius during the day and dipping a bit at night. During the warm week the super intendant turned the heat off, but this past week it hasn't been turned on... so I thought. So this morning I get a knock on the door, its the super with some dude and they want to check my radiator. The dude opens the bleed valve and all you hear is a fucking hiss. I ask what the problem is, the super replies "Someone broke a radiator in their unit and it drained the system, now the whole system is full of air so unfortunately nobody is getting any heat"...
How the fuck do you break a radiator? These are thick steel pipes and steel radiators... how the fuck?
Now I gotta do something that isn't too smart and use my oven as a heat source to heat the place, thankfully I live in a tiny bachelor appt and it doesn't take much to heat the place (no, I don't turn it up to 500 degrees Farenheit). The other downside is that when I take a shower in the morning my tiny bathroom gets covered in condensation which is really bad if you're trying to keep mould/mildew under control in an old building.....
Time to get a better job so I can afford to live in a nicer appt.

How did he break the radiator? Just wondering because for all you know he might not have been poor, just stupid
He seems like a nice guy from my experiences with him. He is a bit quiet though.[/]

Re: Poor ass people do poor ass things.
First time the heaters got turned on in my dorm (radiators) with all of us new kids a bunch of em were complaining about the noise they made. I asked a couple of em if it sounded like a monkey banging a wrench inside the wall, they said yes and I promptly replied that it's working perfect. Got a few weird looks after that one... Kids these days not growing up around anything other than super new stuff (I'm 19 but I've been around of lot of different things....)

Knee - I have no idea how they did it. I say poor because the building I live in has 3 main types of tennants:
1. People like me who are in our early 20's and just moved out.
2. People on welfare that drink/do drugs and aren't going anywhere.
3. Old people that need cheap housing.
I'm not positive but I think it may have been the people who live right across the hall from me... They're on welfare, they drink, they don't get along... I hear them yelling at each other any time between 12-4 AM.
Guyver - No shame, its just funny. And hell yeah I'm poor but not in the head and I'll move up in the world.

Worked on a 2Mil/BTUH model in an old church once.... man you wanna hear the banging that thing made, the acoustics in the church made it worse. I was like the hammer of God was pounding on the foundations! Cleaned some steam traps, replaced the main vents, timed the return pump and bled the system and she was all good, nice and quiet.
