There is just something about people that drive BMWs and Audis. I don't know what it is, but the vast majority are douches. Some may be cool, but they are few and far between.
Nice wagon! I rocked a Chevy Astro for a while back in the day. I liked being able to drag so many people around. It was the party van.

I was thinking of painting it with a black 'chalkboard' paint. It allows you to use chalk on the car. I'll let people draw on it.
This is sort of a 'cheap, fun, POS car' project for me.
I paid a whopping $1600 for it. Once I get my next house sorted out, I'm getting a CTS-V Wagon.
no other way to buy these. 8 passenger. 3/3/2
the theme song for the car My wife and I are huge CAKE fans.
In the past, I've worked for BMW, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, MINI, Land Rover and Acura (as a systems engineer). So, I've got quite a bit of experience with all sorts of 'fancy' cars. I work for a major financial firm now and I'm known as the 'car guy'.
I just helped one of the guys there find his perfect 'first muscle car': a 1965 Chevelle SS
I had to give up fancy cars so that I could focus on spending money on my family and my house. But, I'm not gonna just drive around in some appliance like a Corolla or a Civic... I wanted to have fun. This is fun in a different way.

Good cars. Make sure it's got as much service history as you can get.
Things to watch out for with the M62 engine in that are:
proper oil change intervals
proper VANOS actuation (should work fine as long as the oil was changed properly)
interior electronics can be finicky as well. LEDs in the dash and cluster can go bad pretty frequently.
Suspension components (primarily the bushes) deteriorate over time and solid handling and ride quality can be attributed to failed bushes (mainly the rear trailing arm bushes)
I'll probably remember more later, but that's a start.

chapel
why do ppl buy 750s when 740s are lighter, more nimble, and a little quicker? is it just to show off?
2nd question: with technology the way it is if someone were shopping for a car for the middle to low range of prices, isn't it just smarter/cheaper to get an american car (used of course)? my friend asked me whether he should get a new ford focus or a new jetta or a new civic and is going off my advice and has money concerns so i told him to get a 2010 ford focus instead
was that dumb or harmless or good advice?
i don't know as much about cars as i wished but i feel like nowadays safety/technology/car manufacturing is so refined and so close in terms of quality from one company to the next that shit if it was made within the last few years especially they all drive pretty well and are dependableLast edited by Ben Yew; 03-31-12 at 09:42 PM.
