Your family doesn't want to 'worry you'
So right now I'm at school (basically a technical school) for supply before I go to my first ship. When it comes to orders, your class rank basically determines what you get to chose and where you go, so your grades are important. Due to this my family keeps leaving me out of the loop because they don't want to worry me before a test / while I'm in class so I keep getting big news well after the fact.
Last week my sister had to go to the doctor and get an amnio (for my first niece, which I just found out the sex of!) because her hormones were off and they though that the child could have downs syndrome. Which I didn't find out until like 3 days after they had the results, because they didn't want to worry me. That's nice and all but it's my damn sister and it would be nice to know, especially since her and I talk almost daily, and she had already told my parents before she even had the amnio.
Today I found out that my mom had a surgery this morning!! It wasn't major, but still she had to go under and what not and I again didn't find out until after it was all said and done!
This is extremely frustrating. I know they are trying to prevent me from dropping everything and flying out to see them, which I might have possibly done (although on the weekend without missing classes), but still I don't like being left out like this. Blargh!

I know the feeling. My parents did the same when my grandmother died, and when my cat Thelma died. I understand how you're angry, but they did it because they love you. It still sucks though.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.
