I'm no Virgil, but how about...

The singer understands your plight. You worked hard at something, but it failed (a business, a relationship, whatever). Not only was there no up-side, but you've lost your investment too - as if you'd eaten your own. Now you're ashamed and beat-down. You're hiding. But the singer has been there before. He knows what it feels like. He's calling you to come out of your cave.

That video... this may seem weird but I've been there. Having a scooter there IS cool. Having a 500cc Enfield Bullet is cooler, but the new ones suck and the originals are hard to come by.
