Thread: Update on my life

Hey guys, long time no see. I just wanted to give everyone a status update on how things are going in my life. To say the least, it's extremely busy. I just had my 20th birthday in May, I feel like I'm getting to be an old man these days . I also started a new job about a month ago as an EMT-Basic for an ambulance service. It's been a damn good month at that place, I know I'm going to enjoy the next few years, at least, at this service.

I also have joined a volunteer fire department in my county. I've been with them for a few months now at least. I'm currently going through a mandatory firefighter class for them out of county, this class is awesome so far, we get to practice all of the necessary skills that makes a firefighter, a firefighter (extrication, scba's, surround and drown, etc). They will be putting me through the actual fire academy once I complete the medic program I'm currently in.

Speaking of which, it's been probably the most difficult 6 months of my life, and I still have almost a year left in the program. I'm able to start IV's, draw and push some meds, I can intubation in surgery (once I get cleared in surgery I can do it in the field), and I can read a few rhythm strips. Within the next couple months I will be ACLS and PALS certified.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that between the fire department, medic class, and my new job I'm extremely busy, and it's just starting to get crazy.

So for those who remember me, and those who don't, I just wanted you all to know that I miss you guys a lot, I miss playing PR and stuff with everyone. You guys helped shaped me into who I am today, and I promise I won't forget that.
